BackgroundMarco Legittimo received his master’s degree in Computer and Robotics Engineering from the University of Perugia in 2020 with a thesis entitled “Study and Implementation of Visual Odometry Techniques using approaches based on Recurrent Convolutional Neural Networks for Autonomous Robotics Applications”. He was a postgraduate scholarship winner with a primary focus on Machine Learning techniques for agriculture. Then he won two research grants focused on localization algorithms and SLAM for mobile robots, both with deep learning and geometric techniques. He is currently a Ph.D. computer engineering student at the University of Perugia with particular interests in Robotics, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.
